The Scarsdale diet was invented by Dr. Herman Tarnow, Scarsdale, New York. Scarsdale diet is another diet that is based on a high protein and low in carbohydrates and fats. In Scarsdale diet are not counted, but the calorie intake is restricted for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Scarsdale diet can can make one to two weeks, but no longer. It is a fairly strict diet that provides about 1,000 calories a day and exercise is not recommended during the diet.
Food permitted Scarsdale diet are meat, poultry, fish, fruits and vegetables.
Prohibited foods from the diet are those with Scardale carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, rice, potatoes and sugar. Nor can drink milk, alcohol and oil.
It is important to drink plenty of water for at least 4 cups water daily.
